Emily rested the end of her quill against her chin, thinking hard about the answer. No, she did not recall how exactly to perform a cheering charm on herself. Emily could probably use one on somebody else, no problem, but herself? No, this was a different story. The Ravenclaw boy in front of her was writing at a furious pace. Emily was a bit concerned his paper might burst into flame, but was jealous. Emily hated charms.

Zelphar had actually finished the written portion before they called him up to do the practical. So he sat, doodling on some spare parchment, actually fairly bored. Perhaps he might actually do a charm to make his drawings move like an animation that they would play for the little kids at Grant's. The instructor's voice then filled his head ("You may NOT draw your wand during the written portion.") Zelphar sighed.

Blaize held the mouse that the examiner had given him, thinking a moment about the spell needed to change an object's colour. Eventually, he recalled the spell, muttered it, and the mouse turned bright orange, except for its nose. Blaize didn't notice, so he was content. He was then dismissed to go back to the written portion of his test.

Jane was called up for the practical next. She clausal walked up to the examiner. She crossed her arms and starred at him evilly. It was obvious that she wasn't going to do anything. He dismissed her a few seconds later and she walked back to her desk.
